After Graduating from SIU-Carbondale with a degree in automotive technology, Jim Moravec started JDM Automotive Service in Huntley, IL with his parents. JDM stands for Jim Dad & Mom. In 2001, Jim and his wife, Robin, bought out his parents’ share of the business. They built the current building in 2002 after learning that their previous location would be demolished with the widening of route 47. In 2013, the third generation of Moravec’s, their son, Jimmy, started as a full-time technician.

On April 21, 2025, tragedy stuck when Jim passed away in a single car accident on his way home from JDM. He will always be remembered as a kind, honest, and hardworking man who loved his family. Robin has now assumed the role of running the company. She along with her son, Jimmy, plan on continuing Jim’s legacy. Jim’s legacy was and always will be to treat every customer as if they are family. Our goal is to deliver reliable repairs and maintenance services that keep families safe on the road. We prioritize honest clear communication with educational guidance to help customers to make informed decisions. Our goal is to establish ourselves as the go-to family auto care center. We want to create lasting relationships built on exceptional service and company values.
